Lot 1A First World War Military Cross awarded to Second Lieutenant David Kerr, also known as Robin, he served with the 6th/7th Royal Scots Fusiliers and died on the 12th August 1916, aged 22, whilst trying to rescue a wounded soldier in no man's land. He is commemorated at The Peake Wood Cemetery, Fricourt, Somme in France and was the son of George and Isobel Rait Kerr of 7 Cluny Terrace, Edinburgh, in original fitted case, decorated in gilt with a crown.
